It is obvious that a human being cannot survive without using water, and that our human body is 70% water. Consequently, if we are unable to safeguard our water, it will eventually impair our future, and humanity will confront an existential dilemma as a result of water scarcity.
Our future surviving on Earth is unquestionably dependent on the future of water; for example, if we did not have water in the future, we would perish; hence, the future of humanity is most dependent on water. Because of the scarcity of water, not only humans but also the little and large creatures that dwell all over our world will suffer.
Water is crucial to our daily lives for a variety of reasons. The most basic requirement for survival is the ability to consume water. Water is also utilized for various daily activities such as washing clothes, bathing, cleaning dirt, cleaning dishes, and many others. Using these uses of water in our daily lives, we may recognize who, what, and how important water is in our lives.
If we want to continue using water in the future, we must save water and use it appropriately so that future generations do not suffer a water scarcity problem.
How can we save water for the future?
As we take efforts to save water for the future, we may truly do some things that will help us in the long run.
- First, we go to the shower, bath, or washroom; we must learn how much water we should use when doing these activities so that we can save some water.
- Many times, we forget to turn off the water tap, resulting in a large waste of water. To avoid wasting a large amount of water, everyone should carefully turn off the water tap after using it.
- We already know that water covers 71% of the earth's surface, with only 2.5% of that water being fresh water that we can utilize in our daily lives. With these figures in mind, we must know who it is vital to preserve water for future generations, and that a simple approach to save water is to not waste more water than we need.
- There are various places in the world where people walk too far to find water so they can drink it and survive, and there are many people who do not get enough water to meet their daily needs. Water scarcity is the most serious problem that many people suffer, especially during the summer, and if we want to alleviate the problem, we must save water.
What is the significance of water to us?
Here are some of the most important reasons why we must value water.
1) Human Body Need Water
- We've all heard that drinking 3-4 litres of water per day helps maintain our bodies healthy. Yet the more crucial question is why does the human body require water. Water is required by the human body for practically every function. The most important role that water plays in our bodies is in maintaining our body temperature in boundary contexts. When it is hot outside, our bodies shed water as sweat to keep our body temperature.
- Water is essential to produce various liquid juices that are required for various biological functions such as digestion. Water also helps our bodies eliminate waste products such as urea through the urine process.
- Water protects our kidneys since our kidneys cannot function without water. Kidneys play an important part in urinating, thus they require water to expel liquid waste.
- And certainly, when our body runs out of energy and we are thirsty, water can help to replenish part of the energy in our human body. Because the human body requires water for a variety of functions, consuming 3-4 litres of water every day is vital.
2) Farming Needs Water
- We need to stay healthy & live healthy; we need to consume vegetables and varied fruits, and farmers need water to cultivate these crops; if we have insufficient water, we will not be able to live healthily.
- Worldwide, there are 8 billion people living in neighbourhoods, and in order to offer food resources to people, farmers must develop a variety of fruits and vegetables, therefore agricultural water is necessary. Yearly replenishing food resources is a difficult operation, and farmers cannot grow crops without water. Water is as important to us as air, and our future is dependent on it; we require water virtually every day in almost every activity.
3) For Daily Human Activities
We must perform numerous actions such as washing clothes, taking a shower or bath, cleaning our mouths, cleaning dirt, and many more. To continue receiving the benefits of water for a longer amount of time in the future, we must preserve water and recognize the worth of water.
Future Wars May Be Over Water
- As climate change & population increase make water scarcer, a report from the European Commission's Joint Research Centre projects that battles over water will be waged 75-90 percent of the time within the next century. The report was calculated using advanced machine-learning algorithms, which identified five possible conflict hotspots where many countries shared the same body of water.
- The Ganges-Brahmaputra region, where water flows through Bangladesh and India; the Colorado River, which runs through the United States and Mexico; the Indus region, which has water bodies separating India and Pakistan; the Tigris-Euphrates, which flows through Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Kuwait; and the Nile, which flows through 11 African countries, were identified as hotspots.
Summary
A lack of water across above discussed bodies of water could exacerbate existing tensions between countries and cause societal upheaval and wars.
