Sweden’s First Beer Brewed with Recycled Water

The R&D-facility for water purification launched its very own beer - PU:REST!
Ten years ago, we started our R&D-facility for water purification in Nacka/Stockholm and since then it has become world unique (words used by those that have been there). Working on economic feasible and environmental sound solutions for a more sustainable wastewater and sludge management, we have shown that our vision of that sustainable society with respect to water is not a dream but around the corner if only we start to think in new ways, get rid of traditional conventional frames that limit ourselves.
To accomplish a rethinking we realised that it needs more than solid work, we need to engage people more than we were able so far. Therefore, after many years of just thinking about it, we brewed our own beer based on Stockholm’s most valuable source: its wastewater.
Together with Nya Carnegie/Carlsberg it is meant to make people remember that we only have ONE WATER and we should treat and respect it accordingly! So check out our PM below or visit our webpage www.hammarbysjostadsverk.se for more info on our work.
No matter how you react on this launch, ENGAGE! Change starts with rethinking, start with yourself and engage people around you!
