Finally, its raining here, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Since last couple of weeks, municipal corporation was working hard to finish the maintenance work of the drainage work. When everyone is busy in criticizing the municipal corporation, no one was thinking to harvest the rain water, for near future use.

The seen water vapor can be utilized for domestic as well as industrial purpose, but we choose to simply drain the rain water into the sea, through various drainage pipes. Then we install desalination plant, to recover the same water, which we drained into the sea.

Further, concrete roofs, floors, and roads does not allow to percolate the rain water into the ground. Which further reduces the ground water level.

The city like Ahmedabad, which borrows the water from another river, should have a rain water harvesting systems with ground water recharge system.
