This public entity, responsible for the primary water network of nearly one million Biscay citizens, turned to the initiative promoted by the Biscayan Provincial Council and Telefónica to find innovative solutions providing a unified environment for access and control for different elements. The business concentrates on building digital initiatives designed to enable its customers to make the best decisions using quality data and create optimised multichannel digital experiences. The challenge set in September by Consorcio de Aguas Bilbao Bizkaia was entitled How can new technologies facilitate management and maintenance of the control devices of its facilities? This call for proposals, won by ZYLK, is the ninth to be launched through Bizkaia Open Future and aimed to obtain technological proposals that contribute a distinctive degree of innovation to how the consortium manages its control devices. The challenge attracted 38 proposals, of which 20 were submitted from the Basque Country, 16 from the rest of Spain and two from abroad. The winner will create an actual pilot of the successful project paid for by Consorcio de Aguas Bilbao Bizkaia and obtain an additional prize of 15,000 euros.
