(NOV), a leading global provider of equipment and services used in the oil and gas market. The agreement makes NOV the exclusive licensee of the Oasys Membrane Brine Concentrator (MBC) technology in global upstream oil and gas for produced water treatment. Together, NOV and Oasys will combine NOV's world-class operational and service capabilities with Oasys' industry-leading technology to deliver unparalleled water reuse solutions into the growing global produced water market. The initial MBC 4000 system, a movable unit that can treat and desalinate up to 4000 barrels of produced water per day (630 m3/day) to provide fresh water for beneficial reuse, will be deployed in early summer 2014. "Establishing this relationship with Oasys Water is a key part of our strategy to deliver water services and innovation across the entire exploration and production supply chain for the oil and gas industry," said Dale Pierce, NOV new business development manager, North America. "Oasys' proven water desalination platform is a natural fit with our strategy to provide industry-defining technologies, high quality and environmentally responsible solutions. We are pleased to make the platform part of our water services offering to customers in every region of the globe." In addition to accelerating commercialization in the oil and gas industry, Oasys secured a significant financing round earlier in 2013 to facilitate expansion into additional industrial markets, including power and refining. In October, Oasys also announced a relationship with leading Chinese EPC Beijing Woteer Water Technology Co., Ltd to provide the MBC technology as an economically and technically superior alternative to conventional evaporative technologies in the rapidly growing industrial water treatment market in China. "The mission of Oasys Water is to deliver innovative technology to address the world's most difficult water challenges, and the partnerships we have secured this year, including this vital relationship with NOV, have helped us make significant progress toward that goal," said Jim Matheson, president and CEO of Oasys Water. "With the combined power of our team's expertise and the support of our world-class partners, investors and customers across the globe, we look forward to achieving even greater success in the coming months and years."
