Island Water Technologies’ real-time bio-electrode sensor platform Sentry has raised a Series A round – understood to be in the region of $2 million – from Factor[e] Ventures and SKion Water.
On a basic level, the money will help it to scale the adoption of its software-as-a-service solution by bolstering the sales team and building in-house technical capability. CEO Patrick Kiely explained to GWI, however, that the enhanced client access that the new partners bring in both mature and emerging markets will be vital to accelerating Sentry’s path towards more widespread acceptability.
By installing uniquely rugged sensors in biological wastewater systems and using the resulting data to optimise performance in real time, the Sentry system offers scope for meaningful opex savings.
