I have experienced several times while working at Gas Purification Plant Sui Gas Field. The reason being when ever in a cold/hot steam condensate or process pipes ( hot or cold steam condensate is mixed). Solution always drain the cold steam condensate then introduce hot steam condensate to warm the lines. Otherwise catastrophic situation occurs ( damaging of flange joints/rupture of pipes).
