Leadership for Water Security in Asia and the Pacific

More than 90% of the people in Asia and the Pacific are without water security. What actions should the region's leaders take to ensure that the social and economic gains of the recent decades are not jeopardized? Investments are needed simultaneously in five key dimensions of water security: secure households, productive economies, livable cities, healthy rivers, and resilience to water-related disasters. The landmark assessment of the Asian Water Development Outlook 2013 has guided leaders at the 2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit in Chiang Mai.
