Professor Deininger is Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology at Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences. She is a member of the Technical Committee AK5 of the German Association for Water Management, Wastewater and Waste. In addition, she can look back on a wide range of practical experience in the field of wastewater treatment plant planning.
In our conversation with Prof. Deininger we talk about energy requirements, phosphorus recovery, the fourth purification stage and sludge treatment in wastewater treatment plants. The professor gives us an interesting insight into the current state of the art in wastewater treatment plants, the challenges facing wastewater treatment plants and how things will continue in the future.
