It is really needed in India to involve private companies in financing for maintenance of village/ small town water supply schemes as their corporate social responsibility. I have learnt that even small scale companies are spending huge amounts on maintenance of lawns. They easily can bear yearly maintenance expenses for small water supply schemes.
