Depends on your needs. I.e: for energy reduction you need to consider review the aeration and sludge dewatering process. But if you want to reduce water consumption in the area, you should go to water reuse. Try to produce water in a good quality for irrigation, industrial process,......and just use potable water for people needs.

Hi Hassan,
For the sludge, you can easily use a digestor to produce biogas and use it for heating of for electricity. If you wish to use again the treated water, it depends to application :
- for agricultural purposes, you don't need to achieve high treatmeny levels.
- for storage (in ground for example), you have to treat with a higher degree. Have a look at California's solutions. They face the problem for a long time now.
