People often pass this information on as fact. It is not! The real reason for the die-off in the Sierra Nevada Range is "mismanagement by the US Forests Service" over the last 60 years. Bad science has led to the cessation of logging, and that led to the growth of 500 trees per acre on land that will "naturaly" sustain only 100 trees per acre....... It is clear that this mismanagement is the larger contributor to this infestation and millions of dead trees. I live in the middle of what i'm talking about, Shaver Lake, Ca.
