The University of Geneva's Institute for Environmental Sciences and the Geneva Water Hub have the pleasure to inform you about the 8th edition of the Summer School in Water Governance: Framework and Negotiations (Certificate of Advanced Studies-CAS) that will take place in Geneva from the 23rd June to the 4th July 2025.
The management of water resources faces environmental, climatic, political, and economic challenges. In this changing environment, innovative policies should be designed to foster collaboration between States, civil society, and the private sector. To this end, practitioners and decision-makers need to develop new analytical skills.
The objective of the “Water Governance: Framework and Negotiations” Summer School programme is to provide skills and knowledge based on the latest scientific research applicable in professional contexts. Participants will learn how to use water governance tools to address complex political situations, be resilient when a crisis strikes, and innovate in the face of risk and uncertainty.
This programme has been designed as a blended training programme and is composed of a MOOC in Water Resources Management and Policy, Module 1, and four face-to-face interactive modules that will be delivered at the University of Geneva: Module 2: Hydropolitics Module 3: International Water Law at the Intersection of Different Fields of International Law Module 4: Conflict Management Processes Module 5: Data, Water and Cooperation
As regards the registration fee, the complete programme costs 3500 CHF. However, single modules can be taken individually, each module costing 1250 CHF.
The registration deadline is the 28th of February 2025 .
