3M’s Scotchkote Manhole Repair System wins Water Dragons 2013

3M's Scotchkote Manhole Repair System, which uses a rapid curing epoxy resin originally developed for repairing battle tanks, was recognised as the best innovation in Water Dragons 2013.

Organised by the Society of British Water and Wastewater Industries(SBWWI), the trade association for the water industry supply chain, Water Dragons - now in its sixth year - allows manufacturers, consultants and service companies to pitch innovations to a panel of senior water industry executives.

The Scotchkote system provides a manhole cover repair strong enough to deal with the weight of heavy traffic. It cures in only 30 minutes allowing traffic flows to resume far more quickly than traditional repair methods. The Dragons were impressed with both the financial business case presented by the 3M team and the operational benefits of the Scotchkote system.
