A National Review of Innovative and Integrated Stormwater Management Initiatives
Published on by Water Network Research, Official research team of The Water Network in Academic
The Innovative and Integrated Stormwater Management report is an examination by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) into national and international stormwater programs.
DEP commissioned this report with the goal of learning from other communities with advanced stormwater management programs.
The report is the result of vital data sharing between New York City and 34 communities, and contains case studies capturing lessons learned and challenges with MS4 and Consent Decree compliance, flood reduction programs, and other integrated stormwater management initiatives.
DEP is working to comply with the State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Municipal Separate Stormwater Sewer System (MS4) Permit recently issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
By sharing the Innovative and Integrated Stormwater Managementreport, DEP hopes that other service providers can use it to cost-effectively improve the quality of their surrounding water bodies and deliver other benefits to their communities.
The Water Research Foundation is publishing and distributing this report on behalf of DEP as part of our focus on One Water. The Innovative and Integrated Stormwater Management report is available to the public in both PDF and hard copy formats. Click the link below to get the report. Hard copy orders will begin shipping September 28, 2017.
