A Researcher Wins 6 Water Technology Patents

SaudiResearcherReceived Six Patentsfor Work in Polymer Precipitation Preventers

A researcher at the Desalination Research and Technology Institute in Jubail, an affiliate of the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), has received six patents from the Australian government for works related to the development of polymer precipitation preventers, the Saudi Press Agency reported Wednesday.

Dr. Ali Abd Rabb Al-Rasool Al-Hamza, who is the head of the chemistry department at the institute, was awarded "distinctive research certificate" from the Faculty of Science and Technology at New England University in Australia in 2010 in the field of "polymer precipitation preventers for desalination plants".

Al-Hamza's research was related to one of the primary goals specified in a comprehensive national program for developing water technology in the Kingdom. This technology is particularly relevant to the build up of scale.
