Academic Link-up in Chile for Technology Transfer & Water Savings Research

Aqua-4D Chile is delighted to have signed a national-level agreement with the INACAP Technological University of Chile. The agreement pertains to technology transfer for the efficient use of water in the agriculture industry, and will allow the university’s almost 200,000 students access to Aqua-4D’s innovative irrigation technology.

In turn, due to the huge national reach of the prestigious institution, Aqua-4D will have a nationwide presence, opening up new studies, research collaborations, and further scientific analyses looking into the use of the technology in agricultural contexts (to add to the impressive list of studies in other regions of the world).

The agreement was signed by the General Manager of Aqua-4D in Chile, Felipe Villarino; National Agriculture Director, Cecilia Gutierrez, and Luis Eduardo Prieto, General Secretary of INACAP Technological University of Chile.

INACAP is one of the country’s largest universities spread across 26 locations and 11 research sites in Chile, with the best technical levels for each of its areas and more than 1000 hi-tech labs. “All these factors and more attracted us to a collaboration,”, says Felipe Villarino, “which will incorporate Aqua-4D into its innovation centers to promote technology transfer to the market.”

Villarino added: “This agreement is an important step for the CHA 2020 project (Project for Water Awareness in Agriculture) which Aqua-4D is backing alongside local authorities, with the aim of providing genuine solutions to large-, medium-, and small-scale growers in Chile.”
