The  MLSS of 3,5 kg/cbm in conventional plant and 5 kg/cbm in fix film plant are very conservative, with an anaerobic step upfront a pre-denitrification step the settling ability of the activated sludge increase considerately so the concentration of MLSS can be increase to 5 kg/cbm in a conventional plant and to 10-11 kg/cbm in a fix film plant.
