Bloom Wins Water Tech Award

Bloom was recognized for building a connecting bridge between innovative solutions and market demand for better water management practices

Kevin Jones, president and CEO of Bloom and his team won the Business category in the People section of the national awards program that was organized by Water Canada Magazine and was held June 25 at a gala dinner at the Westin Bayshore Hotel in Vancouver.

Bloom was recognized for building a connecting bridge between innovative solutions and market demand for better water management practices.

There were 90 submissions.

Bloom launched waterandwine.ca – an online resource that educates wineries on water and wastewater management. It uses video, templates and various other mediums to empower all wineries to adopt these improvements in process, equipment and technology, company officials said.

The national awards recognizes the achievements and ideas of individuals and companies that are successfully working to change water in Canada

“Water Canada started Water’s Next as a way to celebrate the thriving national water community and showcase Canada’s water leaders, champions, and innovations,” Rachel Phan, Editor of Water Canada, said in a news release. “These eight Water’s Next winners have worked tirelessly to make safe, healthy water resources a priority in Canada.”

The Water’s Next selection committee, composed of 16 experienced professionals from across Canada’s water sector, was tasked with narrowing a crowded field of nominees down to eight winners in two categories: People and Technology.

Other ‘People’ winners included: Madjid Mohseni from the University of British Columbia for Academia/NGO; Barry Orr from London for Government and Megan Kot of Dalhousie University from the Centre for Water Resources Studies for the Young Professional section.
