Ottawa-based BluMetric Building Water Treatment Plant for Northern Ontario Mine Run by Undisclosed Multinational Firm
Canadian clean technology firm BluMetric Environmental Inc. has won a $1.1-million contract to build a water treatment plant for a northern Ontario mine run by an undisclosed multinational firm.
Ottawa-based BluMetric said the plant will be delivered within the next 90 days, and "will integrate several technologies in an innovative approach to removing dissolved metals, ammonia, and other contaminants" from water pumped from the mine.
The design, which will include BluMetric's first industrial use of LG Corp.'s advanced membrane products, is highly modular, allowing the plant to be transported to and re-commissioned at other sites in future.
"This contract is a result of our team's ability to approach each customer's situation with innovative thinking, solve site-specific problems, and still deliver quickly," Dan Scroggins, president of BluMetric's water division, said in a statement.
