IBWA Launches Video on the Importance of Bottled Water in Emergencies

The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA)released"Bottled Water - Always there when you need it,"a new YouTube video detailing the crucial role bottled water plays in times of natural disasters and other emergencies, according to a press release.

Late summer and early fall are periods with the greatest potential of severe weather, such as hurricanes, and this video functions as a reminder for people to reevaluate their level of risk and updateemergencyplans and hurricane kits, stated the release.

Advanced preparation for severe weather threats means stocking up on emergency supplies, including non-perishable food, batteries, drinking water, etc., in sufficient quantities lasting at least 72 hours, and FEMA recommends a minimum of one gallon ofwaterper person a day, with the safest, most reliable source being commercially purchasedbottled water, continued the release.

"IBWA understands that consumers must have access to safe, clean drinking water during emergency situations," said IBWA Vice-President of Communications Chris Hogan. "Smart planning and preparations for one's water needs can make a big difference in the ability to get through and recover from a natural disaster or emergency."
