BSDM - Barged Sediments Disposal Model

BSDM is an engineering tool developed by NTU Hydraulics Lab and CENSAM to quantify the near source transport and deposition of sediments released from barges.

It can be used for environmental impact assessment during the planning of open water disposal of dredged sediments. The analysis includes the convective descent of sediment clouds and stem loss, impact onto seabed and subsequent gravitation spreading, and finally deposition contours for single and multiple releases.

The software can manage both small and large volume releases, and takes into account of the fact that the sediments require finite duration to be fully discharged as well as different geometry of the barge opening.
