Construction of Power-producing Cambi Sludge Treatment Units
This time-lapse video shows the construction of the Cambi thermal hydrolysis facility at DC Water's Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Thermal hydrolysis is an innovative process that pressure cooks the biosolids left over after treatment.
That will help produce cleaner Class A biosolids and lots of energy for the plant. This camera, mounted by Cambi and MEB, shows the progress over 8 months, from December 17, 2012 to August 8, 2013. The facility is scheduled to start operating in 2014.
