Digital Plant Pot Automatically Waters Plants And Saves Water
Published on by Dusko Balenovic, Previous Network Manager at The Water Network in Technology
A group of Indian experts have developed a digital pot which saves water in multiple ways. It can be used for hundreds of plants with automatic watering and soil moisture sensors.

Developed by 'Designitezy.com', the pot requires no manual effort.
It uses technology to determine exactly when the plants need watering, using soil moisture sensors.
Not only is the water saved by watering the plants only when the soil has insufficient moisture, but also the water goes directly in the ground and is not wasted on the surface.
The pot has a 25 liters reservoir and can be connected to the tap. The supply stops automatically as soon as the reservoir is full.
The setup is adjustable and can be utilized for a few to a hundreds of plants, which will all get water automatically.
Moreover, it can be customized to meet different plants’ requirements, since not all plants need the same amount of soil moisture. This adjusts the water consumption to the exact needed amount.
The pot can be used both indoors and outdoors and will soon be on the market for Rs 1000 ($15.37).
