this is a bad idea. we have messed up the surface of the world and now, we want to mess with the sub surface? sure, we know that geothermal energy is real but its not sustainable. it will be worse than global warming.if there would be unabated drawing out of heat from the earth's core, what would happen? in time, the planet will go cold. then what? you can calculate the energy you can harvest, then after that is drawn out, then what? what will happen even before that? what will happen if the core of the earth loses, say 20 degrees C? i mean if you are talking of just drawing out the heat from Volcanos, fine. but as a means for serious, sustainable energy? what if you lower the geothermal gradient at 200 feet by let us say 5 C, what will happen?
