Radical Waters Along with ActivTek Will Install Two Electro Chemical Active Generators at the Plants of UBAGO Groups in Spain
The ECA generators will be installed at its facilities in Malaga and Cadiz in Spain.
UBAGO is one of the leading companies in the canning and perishable foods sector, with plants in Cape Verde, Morocco, Spain and Russia. The group supplies fish to Spanish and European markets in canned, smoked or salted forms, and the use of the technology is said to improve the hygiene of fish products.
Implementation of ECA in the water room (fish cleaning and evisceration, conveyors, brine injection and maceration) and in packaging is expected to help with the surface disinfection and cleaning procedures of UBAGO products.
Radical Waters R&D and technical vice-president Philip Nel said: "ECA solutions have and can be used for ice manufacture, treatment of fresh fish prior to processing, treatment of product post-filleting, treatment of fillet conveyors, preparation and decontamination of batter, and the preparation of fresh fillet portions."
ActivTek Spain CEO Christophe Suchy said: "After having successfully helped some big players in the food industry reduce their biological contamination, thanks to the ActivTek air purification technologies, it seemed only logical that we could help UBAGO prevent microbial growth during the cleaning, preparation and packaging of their products, by applying Radical Waters technology."
