I would nearly always start with a balance tank mixed with air followed by a DAF to remove fats but more importantly fish bone etc. The biological stage would require fine-bubble aeration because the amines present break-down to form ammonia so particular ammonia-oxidising bacteria are required. The plant would need to be specifically designed for its function and consider the discharge of the water.
