Giorgio Armani's Acqua for Life and UNICEF are Making Waves

Most of us don't need a reason to shop. Even more of us cannot fathom a reason to take a break from our cell phones. Nonetheless,Giorgio Armani Fragrancesis giving us one, a great reason with a simple message: buy a perfume, put down your phone, and support a good cause.

Giorgio Armani Fragrances has partnered with theUNICEF Tap Projectfor the sixth year, to help provide clean drinking water and sanitation for children in more than 100 countries, including the Central African Republic, Haiti, and Togo. Over five years, the company has donated $2.3 million to the project, and they promise to donate at least $500,000 this year to support the cause. TheirAcqua for Life Campaigninvites fragrance-lovers to participate in several ways.

Message One: With the purchase of the newAcqua di Gio Blue Edition fragrance , Armani will give 100 percent of the profits to the UNICEF Tap Project. For everyAcqua di GioandAcqua di Gioiaspray cologne and gift set purchased, Armani will donate $5.

Message Two: But if you can't afford to splurge on a new perfume yet still want to help, now there's theAcqua for Life braceletin a refreshing color of cobalt blue—for only one dollar—and all of its proceeds will be donated to the campaign. And know that just one dollar provides clean water for a child for 40 days!

Message Three: And to take it a step further, the UNICEF Tap Project is bringing back theTAP mobile app . If you can stay away from your phone for 15 minutes—which is a harder task than we are willing to admit—Armani will fund one day of clean water for a child to live a healthier and longer life. To participate, simply go touniceftapproject.orgon your phone and set the device on a steady surface, and the site will time how long you stay away. Users are welcome to go past the 15 minutes, but once finished, do pick up the phone and wait for a confirmation that a donation has been made.

So put your phones down, do a little shopping, and know that you are saving lives of children who are less fortunate.
