Canada-based membrane filtration solutions provider H2O Innovation has secured new contracts worth approximately $12m in the mining and municipal sectors.
The first contract includes design, fabrication and commissioning of a complete water treatment plant on a mining site, situated in British Columbia, Canada. The plant will include ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) systems to treat mine tailings water with a total capacity of permeate flow of 8,165m³ a day.
The company will supply its Fiberflex skid as part of the UF pre-treatment system, which offers membrane interchangeability and accommodates different types of modules.
As part of the second contract, H2O Innovation will provide a containerised potable water treatment system for a workers camp on another mining project, located in the province of Quebec, Canada. The water system will produce around 480m³ of drinking water a day.
A third contract is on a mining site located in the US, and includes design, fabrication and commissioning of a RO system to treat water from a tailings pond. The system will help to remove arsenic and antimony to produce clean water. At full capacity, it is expected to produce 13,082m³ a day.
The company also received contracts from different municipalities in the US, including Dunes Community Development District in Florida and Clifton Water District in Colorado.
H2O Innovation president and CEO Frédéric Dugré said: "We are delighted to have secured these new contracts at the beginning of our new fiscal year. In the company's history, we have never reached this level of order backlog."
