Iran has signed an agreement with Indonesia to build 48 hydropower projects in the archipelago
In the course of the recent visit to Tehran of an Indonesia delegation and holding of the joint economic commission meeting, Iran and Indonesia reached an agreement for building the said hydropower plants by Iranian firms in Indonesia.
Indonesia is in need of increasing 5,300 mega bites electricity in the country in the next five years.
The Indonesian minister further remarked that his country and Iran are looking for ways to further expand cooperation in the post-sanctions period.
Djalil who led the Indonesian delegation to Tehran said during the visit memoranda of understanding were signed for cooperation in the field of industry, investment, trade and financial services.
