Corporate innovation is not always first but many times buy out the pioneering effort(s). Multi-nationals seem to run the industry and buyout the smaller disruptive solutions in many cases. Here in California we hear much talk about AG and at the same time our State Government is placing ever encroaching barriers on the industry. Our Universities tend to work only with those ideas / companies / industry groups that can deliver large amounts of money for the studies and supporting results. These barriers limit the truly disruptive innovations in many areas and relegate the advances to gorilla marketing and very slow adoption.
