Japan to Assist in Modernising Island's Water Supply

The funding package was announced at the end of PALM, a two-day summit with the leaders of 14 Pacific nations in Iwaki.

But even before what was the the seventh session of PALM opened over the weekend, there were talks on the sidelines and other deals were done.
Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister Peter O'Neill is interested in hooking up with Palau on ecotourism.
And in turn, President Tommy Remengesau Junior, has reached an agreement with Japan on a $15 million dollar funding package to fix Palau's water supply problems.
Bernadette Carreon in Koror says those problems came to a head 12 Months ago when an aging undersea pipeline collapsed.
