Kenya will continue to work closely with Israel in modernizing water and agriculture
Mr. Ruto said modernization of water and the agricultural sectors remains key to solving problems of water shortages and food deficiency across the globe. “Kenya and Israel is already engaged in the modernization of water and agriculture,” said the Deputy President.
The Deputy President presided over the opening of the International Exhibition and Conference on Water Technology and Environmental Control (WATEC, 2015) held in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The conference was attended by Israel former Prime Minister Shimon Peres, Arizona State in the United States (USA), Governor Goug Ducey, and Israel Minister for Economy Aryeh Deri as well as his Environmental Protection counterpart Avi Gabai. Mr. Ruto added: “We have jointly (Kenya and Israel) put 10,000 out of one million acres of land under irrigation. The first harvests have been done.’’
In this regard, the Deputy President said it was clear that Kenya was not only ready and committed but was on course in modernizing water and the agricultural sectors.
