Specialty chemicals companyLanxessis eyeing to tap the seawaterdesalinationandwastewater recyclingsectors atWater Today Expo2015, held from 26-28 February in Chennai, where it is exhibiting itsion exchangeresins and membrane technologies.
The company claims that its solutions are well-positioned to cater to the needs of the seawater desalination plants around Chennai and also to supply reliable solutions to the several effluent treatment plants in Tamil Nadu. Lanxess water treatment solutions, consisting of ion exchange resins andreverse osmosismembranes, are specifically suited for processing the effluents generated from the several textile industries and leather tanneries in the region.
Prakash Shanmugam, head of business unit liquid purification technologies, Lanxess India, said, "Desalination of sea water for farming and in generating drinking water is increasingly being looked at as an alternative and the sea water desalination plants set up in this region in the last couple of years validate the opportunity. Energy-efficient, eco-friendly desalination technologies from Lanxess, using reverse osmosis (RO) membranes offer the right solutions."
