Lusaka Water Company Wins Award at Paris Summit

Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company has been voted among the best four water utilities in the developing world by the Highly Commended Water Leaders Awards at the 2014 Global Water Summit in Paris.
Global Water Awards is an annual event designed to reward excellence and innovation and recognizes achievements, projects and technologies which have made waves in the water industry.
This year's awards were held in Paris - France, and presented by Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Nobel Peace Laureate and UN Goodwill Ambassador for water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Africa.
Lusaka Water was voted amongst the best four utilities in the developing world that were eligible to receive the Water Leader's awardfor 2014.
The other three were ABSA of Argentina, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board of India and National Water and Sewerage Corporation of Uganda.
Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company Managing Director, George Ndongwe said that in 2013 and 2014, the water utility company remarkably made significant progress in improving the lives of people in various communities through the improved supply of water and sanitation services.
