The Quantum BioPower organic-waste-to-energy project in Connecticut, USA, incorporating Global Water Engineering RAPTOR™ anaerobic digestion technology has been honored as a Finalist in this year’s American Biogas Council Industry Awards.
The American Biogas Council represents the entire US biogas industry, including more than 200 companies who are dedicated to maximizing the production and use of biogas from organic waste.
The plant, serving the central Connecticut region, incorporates our RAPTOR™ rapid anaerobic digestion system at the heart of its process that harvests mixed organic wastes for conversion into enough biogas (primarily methane) to generate 1.2 MW of electricity and up to 5.6 tons a day of dry biofertilizer.

This is interesting. Do you produce /separate NH3 for re-use? Have you specifications on your feedstock? Can you send on further details

Dear Crickley, thank you for the interest in our RAPTOR system. The ‘biofertilizer’ we produce is not separate NH3, but struvite, which is a magnesium ammonium phosphate.
Regarding feedstock, our unit is operated on various feedstock composition around the world. As long as the feed is predicted to be an organic waste, we have a whole range of pretreatment options that will properly prepare the waste for biodigestion. The Quantum Biopower plant has been designed to treat mainly food processing waste and SSO (Source Separated Organics) from the area. In case you would like us to evaluate for you a specific case, please let me know I will introduce you to one of our engineers. With kind regards, Monika Ostrega.
