My experience with pressurised sea water filter systems working under pressure such as MF and UF is they rupture the outer membrane of the pheno and zooplankton - filtering out the ruptured membrane but allowing the guts to pass through to the RO membrane where these form an excellent feed for biological contaminants. Gravity sand filters and vacuum ceramic filters are supoerior. This does not happen in sewerage treatment pre treatment as the same pheno and zoo plankton microscopic animals have a hard outer shell and the MF or UF filters out the complete animal. How will this Manganese particles overcome this issue in sea water?
