Tanzania: VETA Comes With New Irrigation Technology
VOCATIONAL Education and Training Authority (VETA) and Kickstart International Tanzania, manufacturers of Money Maker water pumps, are jointly offering new irrigation technology to improve farming activities in the country.
The originality of the device water rotation sprinkler has passed through three different phases - 1997, 2004 and 2014 and can be applied in both large and small scale farming. The innovation which is accredited to VETA instructor from Songea centre, Mr Sussack Mbulu can jointly operate with Money Maker pumps which are available almost in every region. Talking to the 'Daily News' at the ongoing agrobusiness show dubbed Nanenane which takes place at National level at Ngongo Grounds, Lindi region. Mr Mbulu noted that the innovation was fuelled by the fact that a number of farmers were using simple water cans and buckets. He noted that such lowgrade equipment made it difficult for the irrigation farming to be sustainable and successful as efforts applied mismatched the output. Source: Daily News TZ
