New Tech to Keep Our Waterways Clean

A Tenn. USA company created a product that could help keep our waterways clean, and save you money as you wash your clothes
Allen Johnston spends his time inventing technology that serves the environment as much as people. His Johnson City-based company, GreenTech Environtmental, just unveiled a machine that will help clean your clothes with little to no detergent.
"It's more along the lines of what you'll find in a stream that's running through the mountains," said Johnston. It's called pureWash and it injects the washing machine water with ozone, a natural and strong disinfectant.
It's industrial technology Johnston and his team spent more than ten years shrinking down for the home. It uses cold water and the same amount of energy as a small light bulb. He says it could save hundreds on detergent and hot water.
The system also has an auxiliary hose attachment allowing the water to be used to clean anything around the house (including, Johnson says, pets).
