Beijing-based wastewater treatment solutions provider Sound Global has signed a deal with Chongqing Yulong Asset Management (Holdings) to operate and maintain 16 sewage treatment facilities in Chongqing city, China.
The sewage treatment facilities are controlled by the People's Government of Jiulongpo District in Chongqing. Sound Global will be in charge of operation and maintenance (O&M) for two municipal sewage treatment plants and 14 rural sewage treatment plants for a period of 25 years.
The plants comply with the Grade 1B standards as defined in the "Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants" and have a combined sewage treatment capacity of 41,300tpd.
The parties have entered into a public private partnership (PPP) mode for the bundled O&M project.
This latest sewage treatment deal is similar to bundled projects that have been implemented in other parts of south-western China, such as in the rural areas of Xishui, Huangping and Xingren County.
