OriginClear Expands to China

Breakthrough water technology development company OriginClear has entered the Chinese commercial market with the first commercial customer in Hong Kong
Both systems sold in China employ OriginClear’s Electro Water Separation™ process (EWS), a primarily non-chemical system that efficiently removes micro-algae, oils, suspended solids, pathogens, and other contaminants, from fresh or saline water.
Hong Kong-based hydroponics grower Geb Impact Technology Co. Ltd. recently installed an EWS Model A25 to harvest micro-algae.
“We found that OriginClear’s unit harvested our crop with ease,” said James Chang, Geb Impact’s Managing Director. “We determined that the algae harvested met our expectations in various market applications. We are happy with OriginClear’s technology and hardware.”
“The Model A25 is highly reliable and flexible. It can process up to 25 liters of algae water per minute, so it’s a perfect unit for companies to start with,” said Nicholas Eckelberry, OriginClear co-founder and chief research officer, who personally commissioned the system. “Based on extensive internal and third-party testing, we are confident this unit can handle both food-grade and other applications with equal ease.”
Nanjing University’s Department of Environmental Engineering ordered a lab-scale EWS unit for research into treatment of oil wastewater and metal cutting fluid wastewater.
“The unit will be used in our school and our engineering center, for researching and developing specific process for wastewater treatment,” said Ming Hua Ph.D., Associate Professor of Nanjing University’s Department of Environmental Engineering. “The main purpose is for scientific research and education.”
Hua added, “We are keen to use OriginClear’s EWS technology to help solve urgent water treatment needs in the People’s Republic of China.”
