Pakistan could face drought in the near future according to experts in the country, who have warned the country will approach the “absolute scarcity” level of water by 2025.

The Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) made the grim forecast in a new report which claimed the country touched the “water stress line” in 1990 before crossing the “water scarcity line” in 2005.
An unnamed government official in the south Asian country told Pakistani media that urgent research is needed to find a solution – but warned of a lack of available government funds.
Pakistan has the world’s fourth highest rate of water use but is dependent on water from a single source – the Indus River basin in India – and rainfall has been steadily declining, with some experts claiming this is down to climate change.
An estimated million people live in Pakistan’s largest city, Karachi – but very few have running water after the land has gradually dried up, forcing many residents to queue for hours for supplies to be given to them.
Experts say that population growth and urbanisation are the main reasons behind the crisis. Some say the issue has been exacerbated by climate change and poor water management.

The only way to resolve water shortage is to build dams and store it behind the dams and prevent billions of gallons of water flowing into the Arabian ocean. recently there have been lots of rain through out Pakistan that caused flooding and destruction in almost every big city of the country. With proper drainage system flood water water could have been recycled. But the problem is hat the present Pakistan Government does not seem to have planned any projects to manage water resources and even if there are, there are no funds to execute them.
I think it time that politicians stop fighting with each other and pay attention towards betterment of PAKISTAN.

You can rule out climate change. That was a globalist scam that has been exposed. Water management I am sure needs to be addressed. Collecting rain water, building soil fertility that holds moisture and actually causes more rain, a system of cisterns in declining elevation would add to your long term storage. Many other helpful hints. I will review your country's natural resources and geology to design a country wide solution.

You cannot rule out climate change. It is not a globalist scam and needs to be heeded. Whether it is man made or man contributed to with natural cyclic events is another question. It is clear from year on year weather results that the climate is changing.
