Panama Canal Expansion Project - Xylem 2015
When the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) needed help transferring water from a nearby lake to test the new locks for the Panama Canal Expansion project, they called on Xylem.
This was a large water transfer project with a very tight deadline. To meet the time challenge, Xylem chartered five 747’s to transport Godwin Dri-Prime rental pumps and equipment from the USA to Panama.
Xylem engineered and installed a pumping system which included 15 Godwin CD400M Dri-Prime pumps. These pumps were used to move 1.7 billion gallons of water into the new shipping channel and lock system in just 22 days.
