Penn State & Evoqua Technologies' Collaboration
Published on by Water Network Research, Official research team of The Water Network in Business
Pittsburgh-based Evoqua Water Technologies is helping Penn State University and the State College region manage their growing clean water needs by supplying adsorption systems and coconut shell-based granular activated carbon
The Evoqua adsorption systems remove organic contaminants through 12 12-foot diameter high-pressure vessels (HP1230SYS). Evoqua will also provide approximately 360 000 pounds of its Westates AquaCarb (AC1230C) virgin coconut shell-based granular activated carbon for use in the systems.
The selection of Evoqua’s adsorption and granular activated carbon is part of a US$62 million water investment at Penn State that includes a new water treatment plant and water distribution system upgrades.
Installation of the Evoqua adsorption systems is scheduled to begin in January 2016. The work is expected to be completed by October 2016.
