SALINO Wins 2015 Environmental Challenge

Devlina Das is the proud recipient of the 2015 Environmental Challenge for her project ‘SALINO’

Devlina Das is the proud recipient of the 2015 Environmental Challenge for her project ‘SALINO’. Das is a CSIR Senior Research Fellow at VIT University in Vellore, India. She did her B Tech at VIT as well.

Her project SALINO uses solar energy and electrosorption to convert sea water to drinking water. Das received a cash prize of US $25000.

According to a report in The New Indian Express , Das is now set to work on the project for the next three years on the five states of purification technology. She has stated that she is grateful to the Vellore Institute of Technology for the help. Das hopes to provide needy communities with potable water through this project.
