Saudi Strikes Desal Deal with Korea

Saudi Arabia's Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) Has Signed a Deal with Korea for Access to the Latest Seawater Desalination Technologies in a Bid to Reduce Foreign Influence on the Kingdom's Power and Water Industries
SWCC has signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea's government-funded research programme, Global MVP, to create a framework for mutual co-operation and promote the knowledge and transfer of technology. Areas of co-operation will include membrane distillation, pressure-retarded osmosis and valuable resource recovery.â¨â¨
As well as developing techniques for desalination, the framework will also aim to create new ways for cost reduction.
Global MVP manages the research and development of desalination technologies focusing on decreasing the environmental impact of discharged brine.
