SDE Pioneers Ocean Wave Energy
Published on by Water Network Research, Official research team of The Water Network in Technology
SDE’s method uses sea wave motion to generate hydraulic pressure, which is then transformed into electricity. The system takes advantage of the wave’s speed, height, depth, rise and fall – and the flow beneath the approaching wave to produce energy.

The technology is actually cheaper than other energy prodution technologies. The cost of generating electricity is – 2 cents per 1kw/h (Equivalent to 8 dollars for oil barrel) and the cost of building a power station for 1 MW is approx 650,000 $. Also, Even the amount of time required for building a power station is the shortest ( between 1 year up to 2 years).

I am wondering how much this type of renewable energy will cost with regard to protecting the marine ecosystem.

This technology has been around for years and years. It has not been implemented because of it's relatively expensive initial costs and high maintenance costs.
