Georgia's Etowah Water & Sewer Authority has selected the Sensus FlexNet communication system and iPERL meters, which the smart water technology company says can improve utilities' system performance and reduce inefficiencies, resulting in up to $12.5 billion in annual savings

In addition to theutility's aging water infrastructure, recentdroughtsin the area required it to address conservation and the protection of limited water resources.
The authority selected Sensus for its FlexNet communication system and iPERL water meters. Given the service area's mountainous terrain, the powerful, long-range radio capabilities of the FlexNet system are well suited to the authority's requirement for reliable communication, Sensus says.
The iPERL meters allow the authority to accurately read the lowest usage flows, ensuring it can account for water down to the last drop.
