Huntsville-based startup, euHydrate LLC develops smart water bottle technology
This company was developed to support a smart water bottle invention that has now advanced to the final round in the Alabama Launchpad Start-Up Competition. The smart water bottle has already passed the market assessment phase.
The smart water bottle uses sensors in the bottle to collect and send information to smart devices, like cell phones and smart watches. It is currently in the patent application process and should be available for purchase in 2016.
“The next step is to develop prototype and get it to users and see what do they think and what could we change to make a real commercial product,” Dr. Jovanov said.
euHydrate LLC received $15,000 in UAH Charger Innovation seed money. Dr. Jovanov is the chief executive officer and chief technology officer. He has partnered with Cathleen Asch and Robert Gold.
Dr. Jovanov earned Alabama Inventor of the Year honors last year for a smart pill bottle that can monitor whether patients take their medication by tracking the number of pills taken and when they were consumed. The information can then be uploaded to the cloud, where medical personnel can track patient compliance. The smart pill bottle was licensed by a New York start-up called AdhereTech.
