Smart Water Tech Research Collaboration

The Public Utilities Board (PUB), Singapore's national water agency, has inked an agreement which will see it collaborate with resources management firm SUEZ environnement on research in smart water and energy-efficient water technologies

The agreement, which is supported by the Economic Development Board (EDB), will see the two parties collaborate on three research projects in used water treatment, storm water management, and automated meter reading.

Both parties will co-operate to use information and communication technologies and analytical software solutions to develop a smart water grid.

This includes the development of a decision support tool for storm water management, and automated meter reading to track water consumption which will potentially induce proactive water conservation by consumers.

Both parties will also partner on a pilot project to develop an energy-efficient used water treatment process by integrating smart monitoring and advanced control strategies.
